Two (2) Hindi film songs, lyrically identical, more or less - for Melodic analyses

        Hamari Kahani ('49) & Ghungat ('46)
 (A) Mohan kyun nahi aaye...... 03.03  (9 secs longer)

(B) Kyun rooth gaye................02.54

(A) has only a pallavi & two antaras

(B) has a pallavi & 3 antaras

(A) has a beautiful Saxaphone prelude and violin interludes

(B) correspondingly, has a Flute + Violin preludes & Violin interludes

A very significant feature in both :
----------------------------------------

Lata Mangeshkar rendered the solo under MD: Hemant Kedar, when she was 20 yrs old. She was practically a novice, just blossoming in the film circle during this period.

Nirmala Devi rendered the solo under MD: Shankar Rao Vyas, when she was only 19 yrs old. Earlier on, she had already recorded an album for HMV, when she was only 15 years old.

Both the songs have their individual colorful  melodic appeal to the average listening ears-mindset without giving room to 'favouritism' !!

Lata's tenor appears somewhat childish for that age ....in comparison
